True Spec Golf acquires universal tip adapter manufacturer Club-Conex.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (November 10, 2015) – True Spec Golf, a world leader in custom club fitting, enhances its portfolio with today’s acquisition of tip adapter manufacturer Club-Conex. The Rockford, Illinois based Club-Conex produces a variety of universal adapter systems that allow golf club fitters, instructors, and consumers to easily swap club heads and shafts regardless of brand.

The Club-Conex system is primarily used by club fitting professionals to streamline the fitting matrix on-hand by eliminating the need for multiple shafts with OE tips affixed. According to Kyle Monfort, co-CEO of True Spec Golf, “Club-Conex has enabled club fitters worldwide to fit golfers into their optimum golf equipment since 2004, essentially creating an entire industry of brand agnostic club fitters around the globe. We are thrilled to be working with Eric and his team of talented engineers to develop new technology to drive the club fitting industry. The UNI-FIT connector system has been the single most significant development in club fitting since the launch monitor.” Club-Conex produces tip adapters for irons, hybrids, fairway metals and drivers.

The exact terms of the acquisition are private however, all Club-Conex management and production will stay in Illinois. “ It will be “business as usual” for the Club-Conex team and we look forward to assisting them in product evolution and marketing,” states Jeff Sparling, Director of Business Development for True Spec Golf. Hoyt McGarity, co- CEO of True Spec, adds that the opportunity exists to market the product to consumers and instructors, “Education is key when it comes to club fitting and no better opportunity exists than to help PGA pros relay that information to consumers. That being said, we are looking at current market trends and will develop some value-added options for teaching professionals at the PGA show in January.”

“It has been a remarkable 12 years during my tenure as President of Club-Conex,” states Club-Conex founder Eric Burch. “The determination to sell the company was not only driven by the financial reward, but one where the new ownership and I share a common vision for the growth of the company. I have had a tremendous amount of enjoyment watching the evolution of Club-Conex and hope it has positively impacted the industry. I look forward to continuing to design products that help the club fitting business run more efficiently and I am eternally grateful for the past and continuing support.”

Located near Rockford, Illinois all Club-Conex production and R&D happens in-house at their facility. In 2014, the U.S.G.A. approved the use of the UNI-FIT Driver Assembly for tournament play.
