Those golfers familiar with Mizuno irons recognize the distinctive look and feel of their MP line up. Over the years, Mizuno has always produced a forged iron that has been true to a lineage and this trend continues with the new MP25 irons. Mizunos’ engineers have a recipe for success with the MP line up and they continue to tweak it ever so slightly without distraction to the player. Just a better result.

The MP25 may look familiar to the MP15 which was akin to the MP59 and so on. For this round what Mizuno did was a bit unique. Instead of merely taking the MP15 and reworking its make up to swap a badge they revisited the ingredients. Subtract titanium and add boron. Gone is the Ti Muscle design that set them apart in the forgiving / players iron category. Instead they did something creative and added boron to the steel makeup to add strength in the forging. This is not a new concept for them since the JPX 850 Forged irons were the first to do so.

The addition to boron allows for a thinner face and that equals more ball speed which is more distance. However it is not enough to create a thinner face they also have to be forgiving especially in the longer irons. The stronger material enables them to undercut the 3 – 6 irons to the sole increasing the sweet spot. This is not the only addition to their line so stop by Mizuno to see more.
